“A tour that begun in a city like New York City could not have had a better ending than Chicago. A dazzling city for its elegance, its spirit, architecture…beautiful.
Its sky is filled with many skyscrapers like many other American cities, but unlike New York, for example, there is a great sensation of air and space due to the bigger distance between the buildings.
There’s the coast and the huge Lake Michigan, the spotless streets, and last but not least, Chicago is a worldwide reference for the blues.
“Having fled away from Michigan to avoid the rage of Nemo, a one-in-a-lifetime snowstorm, we’re now heading to the Midwest full of enthusiasm following the great success of the previous days”.
The landscape of our journey hasn’t got much to do with New York’s skyscrapers. We travel for hours and hours through uncontaminated nature, only crossed by the highways that link the various cities. Our sight is covered by a brilliant white, the snow becomes our most faithful companion.
The Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino goes on a long tour in the States, backed by Puglia Sounds and globalFEST. From New York to Chicago, going through Philadelphia: 11 concerts, and then the South By Southwest in March in Austin. A long journey on the road that the band will tell to the XL readers through the words of Mauro Durante.
